Hi John,

The English Channel certainly faced some unique challenges when it first launched. Part of the problem is nobody had done this in China before, outside of CCTV 9 which is directly under the central government. There is no other all-English channel in China. You can email me if you have specific questions, and I can try and answer them for you. I keep in close touch with the people at GZTV and they are a good group of people. chinamediatips@gmail.com

Hey Cam,
I live in GZ and was watching the English channel peripherally for several months when it was mostly just ads (which later became outdated ads) announcing its imminent debut, and to be honest was quite disappointed after it seemed to be up and running, if one could call it that. Just found your blog so will now look back to see if you've already given a rundown of the problems and obstacles the TV station faces, but if you haven't I'd love to read about it..
